Charity Fain, City Club of Portland: An Opportunity for Civic Engagement

WHAT: City Club Executive Director Charity Fain will be joined by Tony Iaccorino, research director, and Jodi Heintz, Chair of the membership committee to talk about research projects and the unique programs offered to its members.
 
Fain has a bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor in Russian from The American University in Washington, DC, has studied law at the City University of New York and is a fluent Russian speaker.  She has worked at the Open Society Institute in New York where she managed women's rights programs.  In Washington D.C. she managed projects in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan for the National Democratic Institute.  She has developed, organized and implemented programs for the International Women's Media Foundation to support women in media. Fain was the Country Director for Internews Network where she directed a media policy reform program in Kyrgyzstan.  In June 2008 she joined City Club as executive director. She is responsible for overall organizational management and promoting the organization's mission.
