Celebrating the Whole Child: Life’s Lessons and the Learning Environment
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 - 4:30pm to Wednesday, April 29, 2009 - 6:30pm

Presented by Dilafruz Williams, Ph.D.
Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy, Portland State University

Are we willing to move beyond the rhetoric of "reform" in educational policy? Are we willing to examine what education and learning are really about? Join Dr. Williams by engaging in bold thinking that encourages us to take responsibility and explore a positive discourse that shifts from sound bites related to NCLB: We already know how children and youth are motivated to learn. Come and celebrate the whole child and see examples of learning environments in our own backyards (literally and metaphorically) where life's lessons generate wonder and curiosity, the lynchpins of education.
