Join us for a lecture and discussion with renowned feminist theorist Carol J. Adams, author of the ground-breaking book The Sexual Politics of Meat. This interactive event will focus on key ideas from her book, portrayed through an extensive slideshow that calls on examples from our everyday lives to further illustrate her points, and will be accompanied by an engaging discussion. The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory explores a relationship between patriarchal values and meat eating by interweaving the insights of feminism vegetarianism, animal defense, and literary theory. This event is hosted by Feminist Agenda PDX, an organization that serves as a resource of feminist activism in Portland and the PSU Women's Resource Center.
