Breaking Barriers: Diversifying Access and Careers in the Law
Wednesday, March 5, 2008 - 3:30pm
Student Legal and Mediation Services (SLMS) at Portland State University and the Pre-Law Society, in partnership with the Career Center and the Multnomah Bar Association, will host a panel of judges and attorneys to discuss their varied legal career paths and the barriers faced by people of color in the profession of law.

This event will provide students who are interested in legal careers with an opportunity to hear how legal professionals chose law as a career. In addition to providing legal advice and mediating disputes for students, it is SLMS's objective to provide legal education of preventive nature. SLMS offers students a large supply of free literature on various legal issues. SLMS also presents workshops on legal issues for student groups or PSU classes.
