Animation Universe International Conference
Friday, June 29, 2007 - 8:45am to Friday, June 29, 2007 - 12:00pm

Conference Days: June 29, 30, & July 1

The School of Fine and Performing Arts and the Department of Art are pleased to host Animation Universe, the 2007 International Conference of the Society for Animation Studies (SAS) at PSU, June 29 - July 1, 2007.

We especially welcome faculty teaching in theFine and Performing Arts, Film Studies, Media and Communication Studies, and Liberal Arts to join this eventful and timely conference. SAS decided on Portland and PSU for their conference location to coincide with the Platform International Animation Festival, coming to Portland this June 25 - June 30, 2007.

Both events form a major watershed for the thriving animation and film community in Portland, for scholars and practitioners alike. Animation is truly a multi-disciplinary medium drawing upon the ideas and practices of a wide variety of disciplines, from the Fine and Performing Arts to Film Studies, Media and Communication Studies, and Art History. We strongly encourage faculty with an interest in animation and film studies to join many internationally respected scholars in animation studies as they present their current research.
