Amnesty International at PSU presents a screening of the PBS Frontline original program "When Kids Get Life"

Amnesty International at PSU presents a screening of the PBS Frontline original program "When Kids Get Life." The United States is one of the only countries in the world that allows children under 18 to be prosecuted as adults and sentenced to life without parole. Currently there are more than 2000 of these young offenders imprisoned for the rest of their natural lives. This film focuses on five such cases in Colorado. The screening will be followed by two speakers featured in the film:

Mary Ellen Johnson - Director of the Pendulum Foundation, a juvenile justice advocacy group in Colorado, and author of the book "The Murder of Jacob."

Paul Mones - local Portland attorney who specializes in defending children who have killed their parents and author of the book "When a Child Kills."
