The Psychology Department at Portland State University warmly invites the Portland community and all psychology alumni and students to join us for one or both of two evening events. Two members of the faculty will share the results of how they have creatively applied psychology to two very different arenas.

Professor Jan Haaken will present video clips from recent projects carried out through Portland State University. The presentation will include discussion of psychological dimensions of filmmaking and the use of video in social action projects.

Jan Haaken is professor of psychology at Portland State University. She is author of Pillar of Salt: Gender, Memory and the Perils of Looking Back and co-author of the forthcoming curriculum guide, Speaking Out: Women, War and the Global Economy based on the documentary video, Diamonds, Guns and Rice: Sierra Leone and the Women's Peace Movement. Dr. Haaken also is co-director of Queens of Heart, currently in post-production.
