PSU World Dance Office Presents:

The 4th Annual Brazilian Carnaval/Micareta

The Annual Brazilian Carnaval is a night of live music and dance that spans the diverse culture of Brazil bringing an array of dances from both the Northeast and southern regions, such as Capoeira Regional, Maracatu, Samba de Roda, Samba-Reggae and Rio-style Samba.

Performances by Axi Didi Music and Dance Co.

Newly formed Maracatu group, Baque Livre. Baque Livre will showcase Beto Guimaraes, who brings his songs and dances from Olinda, Brazil.

Special guests Ana Laidley and Jorge Alabe, Brazilian natives who have greatly influenced the Portland Brazilian music and dance community, will join us for this special night with a Samba De Roda performance.

The end of the night is a free for all dance party and we invite you to shake your bunda to the pulsating rhythms of The Lions of Batucada and Batuque.
