A diverse group of more than 200 middle and high school students from Oregon and Southwest Washington will compete in the 2009 MCECS Engineering Design Competition, sponsored by the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at PortlandStateUniversity. The MCECS Engineering Design Competition provides local middle and high school students the opportunity to engage in hands-on engineering projects, while also having fun. Teams from different schools will square off in competitions that include building bridges, mouse traps, straw towers and trebuchets, and creating edible cars. The competitions will be judged by student groups and organizations within the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science.
