Student Legal and Mediation Services (SLMS) at Portland State University, in partnership with Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Fraternity, CASH Oregon, and AARP offers free tax preparation for PSU students and the PSU community. The tax preparation site will run from February 12 until April 15. The assistance is first-come, first-served no appointments will be taken.

When: Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Where: School of Business Administration, room 350 (615 SW Harrison St.)
Time: Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Cost: Free of charge and open to the public

Trained community volunteers will help you file Oregon and Federal tax returns. The volunteers will assist in preparing special credits for which you may quality, such as Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly. In addition to free tax return preparation assistance, the preparers will also offer free electronic filing (e-filing). Individuals taking advantage of the e-file program will receive their refunds in half the time of returns filed on paper - even faster if you have your refund deposited directly into your bank account.
