Portland State University Center for Japanese Studies presents an exhibition and lecture series exploring traditional Japanese Noh Theater
The Littman Gallery at Portland State University will exhibit woodcut prints by Tsukioka Kôgyo (1869-1927), November 1 to November 28. Kôgyo is famous for making prints depicting performers of Noh theater (Traditional Japanese Theater), and this show will exhibit around 40 prints of Noh performers. There will be also two speakers giving talks and two walk-through tours to help us further appreciate the exhibition. All events are free and open to the public.

5 p.m. November 1 (Thursday, opening night), Smith Memorial Student Union room 296
Prof. Bruce Coats will speak on "Tsukioka Kôgyo's world." He is a Professor of Art History at the Scripps University.
12:30 p.m. November 6 (Tuesday), Smith Memorial Student Union room 228 (Multicultural Center)
Prof. Maruki Yasutaka will speak on "Transformation of the Main Character in Noh Drama." He is a Professor of Japanese Theater and Literature at the Pacific University.
Walk-through Tours include:
2 pm November 16(Friday), Littman Gallery, led by Donald Jenkins
Mr. Jenkins is an emeritus curator of Asian art at the Portland Art Museum.
12 pm November 20 (Tuesday), Littman Gallery,led by Lynn Katsumoto
She will have a tour focuses on "Noh Costumes." She is a curator of Japanese prints at the Portland Art Museum.
