DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Fang will provide a brief overview of the background policies and institutional set up that have driven the unprecedented urban development in the past two decades in China, and how they affected the well-being of urban and rural population and physical environment in general. 

ABOUT DR. YIPING FANG
Dr. Yiping Fang is an assistant professor at Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning at Portland State University. Her research focus is around China's urban development, specifically on changes in housing system since China's housing reform in 1980s, and new town development in the current top-down urbanization.  Read more about Dr. Yiping Fang >>
