Computer-Assisted Language Learning
The IELP Learning Center has over 30 computers featuring specialized English-language learning computer software programs to help students practice listening, pronunciation, grammar, spelling, and keyboarding. These programs also help students build reading and vocabulary skills, practice taking the TOEFL, and much more.
Come to the Student Library to study quietly, use our computers, borrow books to read for fun, or use our testing guides for the TOEFL and IELTS exams. For a relaxing, quiet space to read, visit the Reading Room located in UCB 401 M, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 2-4:30 p.m.
Students needing some extra space and privacy to get things done will find this room a good practical resource. Use the multipurpose room to study in groups, take practice TOEFL and IELTS tests, or videotape and watch yourself giving presentations. Reserve this room at the Learning Center reception desk.
Meet Our LC Assistants
Since all of our assistants are former IELP students who now take academic classes at PSU, current IELP students can learn a lot from them. They understand the ups and downs of progressing through the program, so they are very encouraging and approachable. Our IELP assistants will gladly book appointments with tutors for you, help you access IELP resources, and answer any questions you may have about the IELP Learning Center.
