Initial teacher licensure programs are offered in the areas of elementary and secondary special education, early intervention, early childhood, and visual impairments. We also offer a unique program of dual licensure in elementary and special education. Elementary, middle, or high school teachers can add a special education endorsement to their existing license. More advanced courses are offered to teachers seeking to renew their initial special educator license or seeking a continuing license in special education. In most programs, students can attend full-time or part-time, and courses are offered at times convenient for working teachers and paraprofessionals. • Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Educator Program
  This program is recommended for those who want to work with young children, ages birth through grade 3, who have special needs in early intervention and early childhood settings.

• Elementary Special Educator
  This program is recommended for those who want to teach students from age 3 to grade 8 with a range of disabilities from mild to severe.

• Secondary Special Educator
  This program is recommended for those who want to teach students from grade 5 through age 21 with a range of disabilities from mild to severe.

• Visually Impaired Learner
  This distance learning program is recommended for those who want to teach students who are blind or visually impaired children ages birth to 21.

• The Inclusive Educators Program
  This program is recommended for those interested in earning licensure in both Special and General Education at the elementary school level.

• Inital Licensure Program with dual endorsements in a content area and Special Education
  This program is recommended for those interested in earning licensure in both Special Education and a specific subject at the secondary level.
  

• Added Special Educator Endorsement
  This program is recommended for those who already hold a teaching license and wish to add a Special Education endorsement at the elementary or secondary level.
