Faculty, staff and students are engaged in a number of research and outreach projects...
Faculty and students in the GSE are involved in a number of research projects that benefit the education community and nationally. We currently have studies on autism, inclusive education, and students with disabilities. (See the "GSE Research Projects" link above.)
GSE faculty and students also work in partnership with other universities and community agencies to provide programs and resources that help serve our community needs. Examples of these partnerships are the Kiwanis Camp for children, youth and adults with varying disabilities, CLRAS, and Project SELF. (See the "GSE Partnerships" link above.) Faculty and students in the GSE have developed a variety of curricula and curriculum materials that support teaching and learning. Some selections include a project with Library of Congress on the Civil War, a project on the Iroquois Confederacy and the US Constitution, and the Extended Career & Life Role Assessment System (CLRAS). ((See the "GSE Curriculum Connections" link above.)
GSE faculty and staff have developed a number of programs and resources to help meet the professional development needs of teachers and other education professionals. Programs that prepare teachers to work with visually impaired learners or to work in bi-lingual and bi-cultural settings are among two such examples. A special interest group for middle level educators is another. (See the "GSE Professional Development & Teacher Preparation" link above.)
GSE faculty and students are also involved in projects that provide information about or tools for assessment such as CLRAS. (See the "GSE Assessment Projects" link above.) The GSE also publishes "Research Highlights" on a regular basis. For a look at current and past issues (through Fall 2003), use the "Research Highlights" link above.
