GSE faculty and staff have developed a number of programs and resources to help meet the professional development needs of teachers and other education professionals. Programs that prepare teachers to work with visually impaired learners or to work in bilingual and bi-cultural settings are among two such examples. A special interest group for middle level educators is another.

Portland State University proudly announces the addition of the Distance Education Program to prepare Teachers of Visually Impaired Learners beginning Summer Session 2002. The program will prepare students to become effective teachers in small resource rooms, to effectively manage an itinerant caseload or to teach in a special school setting.
