GSE Instructor Handbook: Syllabus Toolkit

These materials have been put together to help you create a syllabus that (a) follows state guidelines for education syllabi, (b) helps you link course objectives to state and national standards, (c) makes explicit your focus on diversity and inclusiveness, and (d) facilitates clear communication with students. 1. OARs regarding Syllabi (.docx)

The Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), Chapter 584, Division 17, describe the elements required of every syllabus in programs for educational professionals.

2. GSE Syllabus Template (.docx)

A template for starting your syllabus that includes the GSE vision statement.

3. Example syllabi (.pdf)

Example syllabi follow state guidelines for education syllabi, link course objectives to state and national standards, include explicit your focus on diversity and inclusiveness, and facilitate clear communication with students.

8. Principles of Universal Design for Learning (web)

Universal Design for Learning is a process of making course concepts accessible and skills attainable regardless of learning style, physical or sensory abilities. This site, from San Francisco State University, has a good overview.
