23rd Annual GSE Academic Hooding Ceremony
This time-honored special ceremony is reserved for master’s and doctoral degree recipients who will be acknowledged for achieving their advanced degree and receive the traditional hood, that in academia signifies their school, degree, and field of study. This year’s event will be held in the Peter Stott Center and includes a short program, followed by a presentation and hooding of the graduates. Family and friends are welcome, however due to limited seating capacity, each graduate is limited to five guest tickets (the graduate is not required to have a ticket). There is no charge for the tickets.
To participate in the Hooding Ceremony
All master and doctoral students in the Graduate School of Education who graduated in fall 2013, or winter, spring, summer, or fall 2014 are invited to participate and complete these required steps:
- Complete the GSE registration form by May 30.
- Reserve tickets – Graduates who are participating in the hooding ceremony may have up to five complimentary guest tickets for the GSE Academic Hooding Ceremony. We are using an online system where you download and print your own tickets.
- Order regalia – Participating graduates and faculty must wear the full academic regalia (cap, gown, hood/cowl, and tassel). Note: The tassel color for a master’s in education is light blue and old gold for doctoral.
- On June 13, arrive at 4pm at the Peter Stott Center and go to the Small Gymnasium on the lower level. You will receive more details nearer to the event.
