Continuing Education (CEED)
Continuing Education provides graduate programs and courses that support the professional growth of preK-16 educators, trainers, and human service professionals. With more than 1500 courses, Continuing Education offers innovative and effective programs that reflect current issues in education and human services. Classes and programs are offered on- and off-campus, partially or fully online and can be customized to fit an organization’s needs.

Counselor Education (COUN)
The Counselor Education department provides skilled training and curricular experiences to masters-level students in counseling, leading to eligibility for certification and licensure as professional counselors. Programs address community counseling, couples counseling, family counseling, addictions counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and school counseling.

Curriculum and Instruction (CI)
The department of Curriculum and Instruction provides high quality graduate level preparation for future teachers and professional development opportunities for experienced teachers. Faculty, staff, and students in the department frequently collaborate with schools and organizations to conduct research and advocacy support for children throughout the community.

Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP)
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy offers a variety of graduate educational leadership programs. Students can specialize in educational administration programs with emphasis on diversity and sustainability, or explore adult learning and learning management fields.

Helen Gordon Child Development Center (HGCDC)
The Helen Gordon Child Development Center is Portland State University's full-day infant/toddler, preschool, and kindergarten. The center, located on campus, serves 180 young children, aged six-months to six years and also serves as an early childhood laboratory. With a strong reputation in the Portland community for quality care and education, the Helen Gordon Center consistently has full enrollment and a continuous waiting list numbering over 300.

Special Education (SPED)
The Department of Special Education offers a wide range of graduate-level programs for the preparation of teachers in special education. Offerings include special education teacher licensure and endorsements, master's degrees, a doctoral program, and continuing professional development. The department also conducts research, resulting in new programs and strategies for helping our most vulnerable populations.
