Andy Hargreaves, PhD, is the Thomas More Brennan Chair in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. He is a popular guest lecturer and the author of numerous books on educational reform. In his book, Professional Capital: Transforming Teaching in Every School, Hargreaves and his colleague Michael Fullan provide a practical plan for transforming American public education. Their ideas are aligned with efforts in Oregon to build professional and social capital in order to improve our systems, to enhance teacher effectiveness, and to create better outcomes for all students.
