Visiting

The ECE Department is in Suite 160 of the Fourth Avenue Building at 1900 SW Fourth Avenue, Portland, Oregon. View the campus map when visiting campus.

Suite 160 is located in the Plaza Level of the Fourth Avenue Building. The street entrance on Fourth Avenue is also on the Plaza Level. The street entrance on Harrison Street is at the Lower Level, so if entering from Harrison Street, take the stairs up one level to visit the ECE Office.

ECE Labs are located in the Lower Level.

By Public Transportation - TriMet: Portland's public transportation is excellent and accessible. Parking is limited in the downtown area, so arriving by transit is strongly recommended. Use TriMet's trip planner to plan your route by bus, streetcar or MAX. The MAX yellow and green lines stop a few blocks away at the SW Hall stop.

By Bicycle: Riding your bike is an easy way to get to campus. There are plenty of bike racks, and the campus is bike friendly. See the City of Portland's bike page for more information. If your trip is a longer distance, note that all TriMet buses, MAX, and the Portland Streetcar are equipped to accommodate bicycles.

By Car: Parking is limited in the downtown and all on-street parking is metered. There is a parking structure with hourly rates directly underground the Engineering Building which has an entrance off of SW Fourth Ave. SW Fourth Avenue runs north. Be sure to exit at the Plaza Level for the ECE Office.

Driving Directions to Parking Garage: Once on 4th Avenue, immediately get into the right hand lane. The parking garage entrance will be on your right BEFORE the City of Portland Tower (underneath 1930 SW 4th). There is a Chevron station directly across the street from the entrance. Take the elevator to the Plaza Level and head north for the main office, FAB 160.

There are also other parking structures on campus - see the link to PSU's transportation and parking services for guests

By Air: The MAX Red Line light rail runs every fifteen minutes from the Portland International Airport to downtown. When you arrive at Portland International Airport you can walk from the baggage claim area to the light rail station (less than 500 feet) and take MAX to the the Pioneer Square Station, then transfer to MAX on 5th Avenue. Both Green and Yellow Line trains on Fifth Ave end at PSU. Taxi rides to PSU are about $35-$40 dollars.

By Train: Portland Union Station is served by three scheduled Amtrak intercity passenger trains. It's a short MAX ride down the transit mall to PSU Campus.
