The ECE department serves a diverse population of undergraduate students. We have traditional students entering college directly after graduation from high school, students who have previously served in the military, students from community colleges, many international students from countries around the world, and students with prior work experience or degrees in other disciplines who have decided to change their career. Whatever your background, we welcome you to our programs and look forward to working with you to help you achieve your career and educational goals.
Students can earn an ABET accredited bachelor's degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering and also a minor in Electrical Engineering. Students have the opportunity to work with local area businesses as a part of the MECOP program and during their senior year Capstone project. We also encourage participation in the many students groups that include ECE students.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Admissions Requirements
Students must be admitted to one of our two degree programs before taking 300-level ECE courses. We offer a degree program in Electrical Engineering (EE) and in Computer Engineering (CMPE). The application deadlines are April 15 for fall admission and August 15 for winter admission. To apply, students must complete all courses indicated on the degree course plan with a C or better. A technical GPA will be calculated based on all grades from math, science, engineering, and computer science courses required for admission. Students must attain a technical GPA of 2.25 or higher to be considered for admission. Admission is competitive and enrollment is limited, but students with a technical GPA of 3.0 or higher are guaranteed admission. The department will normally notify students of the admissions decision within two weeks of the admissions deadline.
