I am a Junior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics, as well as minoring in Mathematics. My interests are in electromagnetics and I have been working in the Sànchez Nano-Development Lab run by Dr. Erik Sànchez since January 2011. In the past I have worked as a professional baker/pastry chef, an amateur sound engineer and a limited energy electrician. I’ve also worked as a TA at Portland Community College and a Physics Peer Workshop Leader here at PSU. When I don’t have my nose in a textbook (which is seldom, these days) I like to spend my time cooking, making beer, writing and recording music, or working on some electronics project. Feel free to drop me a line sometime at email@example.com
I am Chris Clark. I am a Computer Engineering Major with a focus on Robotics. I work in the NEAR lab designing hardware applications. I am the president of the Portland State's Robotics and Automation Society and the treasurer of the IEEE chapter as well. I run the IEEE student store.
My name is Chris Luna I grew up Beaverton, Oregon. I am an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering and also earning a minor in both mathematics and physics. I am a member of the IEEE Student Branch, Robotics Club and the Table Tennis Club. Also, through Portland State I am in the MECOP internship program.
Outside of the classroom I have many hobbies. Recently I became interested in survival camping. Some of my other hobbies include cars, sports, drumming, fish tanks and coral reef aquariums.
Ashley Miller is a junior working on her Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition to working part time at a small company specializing in green transportation, she is part of the MECOP internship program and a volunteer at the IEEE student store. Outside of school, she enjoys video games, crocheting, reading, and being an elementary school science fair volunteer judge, where she hopes to inspire children to become future engineers.
Wray grew up and currently lives in Happy Valley Oregon. Currently he is a Junior pursuing a bachelors in electrical engineering and a minor in mathematics. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and enjoys using his background in speech and debate to help communicate with and help other students while tutoring. In his spare time he enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving, working on cars, camping, repairing broken electronics, digital circuit design, cooking, programming and the occasional video game. Wray plans on staying in the northwest after he graduates and hopes to work in either the power or embedded systems markets. He is currently considering the pursuit of a masters from PSU for Electrical Engineering after the completion of his bachelors degree.
Is a Junior majoring in Physics and Electrical Engineering with a focus on E-Mag. In addition to coursework, he dedicates his free time as a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honor Society, President of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society, Vice-Chair of the PSU IEEE Student Branch, a lab assistant for the Circuits series, and an ECE Tutor. As a working student who transferred to Portland State from a community college, he understands and believes in the importance of active student support services such as tutoring.
Nicole Zimmerman is currently a junior working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. She is looking forward to a career in the power industry. She is interested in formulating solutions to the challenges that renewable energy sources pose to the power grid, as well as the integration of smart grid technology. Nicole plans to remain at PSU to earn her Master's Degree in this research field. Tutoring offers her practice in communicating technical ideas to others. When she's not studying, she enjoys participating in K-12 outreach activities to inspire the next generation of engineers, creating Asian curry blends, and building the Lego universe with her two boys.
