Awards & Recognitions

The Office of the Dean of Students is the home for coordination of many celebration and recognition programs. Celebration and recognition of students accomplishments and involvement in the University is important and the following descriptions provide some insight into opportunities for participating.

National Student Employment Week
Each April the faculty and staff of Portland State take time to recognize the outstanding student employees who help make this institution great.

President's Awards
The President's Awards for University Service and Community Engagement are given to exemplary students each June. The President's Award recipients receive a $100 honorarium, are acknowledged at a luncheon at the end of spring term, and are profiled in a display case on the second floor of Smith Memorial Student Union for an entire year.

Senior Student Recognition
The Senior Student Recognition Reception celebrates bachelor's degree candidates who are graduating with latin honors, an undergraduate and graduate Commendation Award winner from each school/college within PSU, and two students (one undergraduate and one graduate) who have been awarded Excellence Awards on behalf of the University.
