PSU's Student Health and Counseling center accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care
Portland State University's Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
AAAHC Certificate of Accreditation, the most sought after accreditation for University Health Centers, is a designation that our Student Health and Counseling center is committed to providing high-quality care and that it has demonstrated its commitment by achieving AAAHC Standards. Accreditation is a voluntary process through which a health care organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally-recognized Standards. The accreditation process involves self-assessment by the organization, followed by thorough on-site review by the AAAHC's expert surveyors, who are themselves health care professionals.
"While this was a SHAC team effort, Dr. Dana Tasson deserves special recognition for his dedication and contributions to this important project," said Jackie Balzer, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
