Orli Shaham, an internationally acclaimed pianist, will perform with the PSU Symphony Orchestra Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. on the Reed College campus in Kaul Auditorium. Admission is free with PSU ID.
The program, titled Supernatural, will be conducted by Prof. Ken Selden and includes pieces by Olivier Messiaen and Felix Mendelssohn, and the Oregon premiere of Crossing II by Franguiz Ali-Zadeh.
Shaham, an American pianist who was born in Israel, has given recitals in North America, Europe, and Asia at such renowned concert halls as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Frankfurt's Alte Oper, and the Herkulessaal in Munich. She has worked with many eminent conductors including Sir Neville Marriner, Sir Roger Norrington, Christopher Hogwood, David Robertson, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Leonard Slatkin, and Robert Spano, among others.
