Graig Spolek, Mechanical and Materials Engineering faculty, received an $80,000 grant for a collaborative project involving green roof researchers at PSU and Columbia Green Technologies, a Portland company with a green roof system it hopes will become an integral part of storm water mitigation in new commercial construction. The Oregon Built Environment & Sustainable Technologies Center (Oregon BEST) awarded the grant, part of its $1 million commercialization grant. Spolek is leading the PSU team.
