Event: [SOLD OUT] Thomas Friedman Lecture and Book Signing

Best-selling New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, author of The World Is Flat, will deliver a public lecture on the promise of green-related economic innovation, based on ideas contained in his new book, Hot, Flat and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution—and How It Can Renew America.

Friedmans lecture and Q+A begins at noon and will be followed by a book signing at 1:15 p.m. Books will be available for purchase. Free tickets are available in advance, beginning Feb. 12, through the PSU Box Office, or at the door. The PSU Box Office is located at 1825 SW Broadway, inside Smith Memorial Student Union. Capacity for this event is ~1,300.

Friedmans talk is designed to engender fresh thinking and innovation around solving the economic, social, and environmental calamities facing our nation.

Background:
Thomas Friedman is a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner for The New York Times. He has served as the papers foreign affairs columnist since 1995. Previously, he was the Times chief economic correspondent in the Washington bureau; prior to that he was the chief White House correspondent. He is the author of several award-winning books, including The World is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century (2005), Longitudes and Attitudes: The World in the Age of Terrorism (2002), The Lexus and the Olive Tree (2000) and From Beirut to Jerusalem (1989).
