Play to open based on Rushdie book
The stage version of Salman Rushdie's acclaimed book, Haroun and the Seas of Stories, opens Friday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m., in Lincoln Performance Hall and continues through March 1. Tickets for faculty and staff are $8.50 and available at the PSU Box Office in Smith Union. read more >
History lovers to celebrate Lincoln's birth
Help blow out the candles on a cake decorated with images of President Abraham Lincoln at a Civil War Round Table sponsored event Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. in 238 Smith Union. Lincoln expert, Stephen Holgate, will bring the man to life in a Lincolnian press conference complete with question and answer period. The event is free and open to the public. read more >
Nominations sought for diversity awards
The PSU Diversity Action Council is seeking nominations for the fourth annual President's Diversity Awards to be given at a reception May 21 in the Smith Union Ballroom. The council will recognize a faculty member, staff member, and an undergraduate and graduate student who exemplify and honor the University's diversity goals. Consul generals to discuss Israeli and German relations
"Israel and Germany: Six Decades of Unique Partnership" will feature those country's consul generals at a free talk Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 7:15 to 9 p.m. in the Native American Student Center. The Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies at PSU helped sponsor the program. read more >
Northwest rising jazz star featured in concert Feb. 21
Twenty-one-year-old saxophonist and composer John Nastos is the featured artist for the annual Leroy Vinnegar Jazz Institute Young Artist Jazz Concert Thursday, Feb. 21, at The Old Church, 1422 SW 11th. Joining Nastos are drummers Drew Shoals and Alan Jones, bassist Dave Capetin, and special guest, New York pianist Sam Harris. Adult tickets are $10 in advance at the PSU Box Office and $12 on the day of the show. read more >
Commission on the Status of Women is seeking new members
The PSU President's Commission on the Status of Women is looking for new board members interested in creating a campus climate that supports, encourages, and values full participation of women within the PSU community.
