Five Fast Facts about the impact of same-sex marriage on heterosexual marriage

With the recent historic ruling against the Defense of Marriage Act, the research of Dr. Alexis Dinno and Chelsea Whitney from the School of Community Health into same-sex marriage and its impact on heterosexual marriage rates could not be more timley. Record number of students participate in this year's Hooding Ceremony

Over 140 students and 700 friends and family attended this year's 11th Annual Hooding Ceremony. Held on campus at the Peter Stott Center, the event featured the presentation of the Nohad A. Toulan Urban Pioneer Award to Drs. Keren Brown Wilson and Michael DeShane. Dean Wallack shared remarks about creating change, and Dr. Paige Hatcher, MPH, gave a moving speech about how overcoming an head injury increased her passion for healthcare reform. Dr. Carlos Crespo named interim Dean of the College

Starting this fall, Dr. Carlos Crespo will serve as interim dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs. Crespo is currently the Director and a professor in the School of Community Health and has been at Portland State since 2005. A national search for a new dean is under way. Read More

Portland Police hire a Portland State Alumni to serve as their new training analyst

PSU's Hatfield School of Government ranked No. 16 in U.S. News' Best Graduate Program's City Management and Urban Policy grouping and No. 46 in its Public Affairs category.

Professors Ethan Seltzer and Lisa Bates wrote an op-ed for the Oregonian about Affordable Housing.

Urban Studies students find lack of Public Restrooms in Portland for homeless population.

 

Every year the Toulan School engages graduating students in a workshop where they develop planning projects for clients in the community. The complete list of projects is located here, but several projects this year were profiled by the local press:
