PSU Student Success

Insuring success at PSU
The success of students at Portland State is a key component of this project and also Goal 4 of the Cradle-to-Career continuum. There is a campus-wide effort to focus departments, resources and research specifically on improving outcomes for PSU students.
A community with high levels of educational attainment provides far-reaching social, cultural, and economic benefits. There is clear evidence that a better educated population reduces unemployment, crime, welfare dependence, and the need for costly interventions and incarceration.
PSU has initiated new efforts to support students in their efforts to complete their degrees, including adding new student advisers, additional support for student writing instruction and increased tuition assistance. To meet our goal of increasing graduation rates, especially for first-generation college attendees, scholarships are urgently needed so that all students may complete their education, and participate in a workforce that benefits the entire region.
With this initiative, Portland State University is looking for ways to support student success on campus through scholarships, additional advising services, and other support services to keep students on track to graduation.
