It's that time of year again! The Center for Disease Control recommends a seasonal flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against seasonal flu. They strongly recommend that you obtain a seasonal flu vaccination as soon as possible, unless your doctor has specifically advised you not to. Clinics will provide CDC-approved vaccine that protects against influenza, including the nasal spray flu vaccine, FluMist.
As in past years, the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) is offering worksite flu shot clinics free of charge to PSU PEBB covered faculty, staff and their PEBB covered dependents (age 9 and up), WITH A PEBB INSURANCE CARD IN HAND.
If you are a newly-benefits-eligible employee who has not yet received your PEBB insurance card by mail, print off proof of your coverage from the PEBB website at https://pebb.benefits.oregon.gov/members/!pb.main
Any PSU employee or their dependents not covered by PEBB insurance plan can pay $30 (cash or check only) at the clinic to receive a flu shot.
PSU's next flu shot clinic schedule is:
Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Smith Union Room 294
Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Smith Union Room 328/9
RESERVE YOUR SPACE NOW!
In order to accommodate the most people possible in this limited time frame, it is essential for you to reserve your space in advance. Submit your time reservation preferences with this form:

If these two PSU offered flu shot clinics are not convenient for you, please contact your insurance provider (PEBB Statewide Plan, Kaiser Permanente HMO, or Providence Choice) to find out what other options you have available for obtaining a flu shot. This years Flu shots are available at many pharmacies. The nearest Safeway pharmacy at SW 10th & Jefferson is offering flu shots on a walk in basis for $30 each.
