FAQ: Are cats or any other pets allowed in housing?

Cats are ONLY permitted in the following buildings (excluding sleepers): Parkway, Blackstone, and St. Helen’s Court, Stratford, and some King Albert units. Cats are allowed only in uncarpeted apartments 300 square feet and larger. Two cats are allowed only in uncarpeted apartments of 500 square feet and larger. Residents are expected to keep pets secured and properly cared for.

Pets OTHER than hamsters, guinea pigs, fish and/or turtles in 10-gallon tanks or less, are NOT PERMITTED in University Housing, either on a temporary or permanent basis. Pets mentioned above, whose welfare is not jeopardized by living in apartment style housing and who do not create noise or odors that would disrupt members of a community may be permitted. Dogs are NOT PERMITTED in ANY University Housing.

Service animals may be allowed in the residence halls. Residents who would like to utilize this service must register with the Disability Resource Center to obtain documentation supporting their need. This documentation will be forwarded to the Office of Residence Life and the Housing Office with the resident receiving written approval prior to their first day of residency.
