FAQ: I’ve re-contracted for University Housing, but then changed my mind. What are the policies for canceling my contract BEFORE I check-in?

If you need to cancel your contract prior to check-in and wish to receive a full refund of your advance payment; your written, faxed, or emailed notice of cancellation must be received by the University Housing Office no later than 3 business days after the date we send your assignment notification to you via email.

If you need to cancel your contract prior to check-in and missed the assignment notification response deadline you must cancel your contract before July 1, 2008 to avoid being held liable for Fall term housing charges.

First Year Experience, and Global Village residents may not cancel their contract in winter or spring term without paying a buy-out fee, unless they have been granted an approved cancellation from the University Housing Office. (please see the FAQ “What counts as an approved cancellation?”)
