FAQ: What counts as an approved cancellation? What happens if cancellation is not approved?

With proper documentation, the following reasons for termination of your contract are considered approved cancellations and will receive a full refund of your advance payment, and may receive a prorated refund of Housing charges from the date of Check-Out:

· Graduation

· Voluntary withdrawal from PSU

· Academic program leave

· Participation in a study abroad, co-op or internship program or student teaching outside of the greater Portland area.

· Call to compulsory, active military duty

· Documented medical and/or unforeseeable hardship emergencies (must be petitioned and approved on a case-by-case basis by the Housing Office, please see the Petition Guidelines in the University Housing Handbook)

If your contract cancellation is not approved, your advance payment will be forfeited, and you will be billed for the buy-out rate of $9 a day until the end of the contract term.
