Author: Center for Public Service
Posted: February 20, 2013

Over the next several months the Center for Public Service, through its Public Service Innovation Laboratory, will assist the City of Beaverton create an action plan for how the city can better reach out to its minority populations.

CPS created the Public Service Innovation Laboratory to serve as a catalyst for promoting and nurturing innovation in the public service sector. The purpose of “the Lab” is to assist forward-thinking leaders interested in identifying, co-producing, and implementing innovation in government and non-profit organizations.

Partnership with the Lab includes a CPS team of faculty, Fellows, and graduate students that manage the innovation process and work directly with partnership leaders on innovation-focused deliverables. These deliverables involve assistance with one or more of the four key stages often identified with innovation-related efforts: ideation, project selection, implementation, and evaluation. The engagement is conducted using a “co-production” model, in which the partnering jurisdiction and the Lab actively work together to pursue innovation solutions to a particular service challenge.
