Background

Jillian Girard holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University and bachelor degrees in biology and international studies from Gonzaga University.  She has worked as an evaluator and research assistant for projects with local jurisdictions in and around Portland for the past three years.  Additionally, she is the program coordinator for two graduate-level Fellowship programs, the Oregon Fellows and the Hatfield Resident Fellows, collectively known as the Next Generation Initiative.  Jillian is also an active member of Portland City Club and the Oregon Program Evaluator's Network.  Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral degree in Public Affairs and Policy at Portland State University.  Her research interests are natural resources, civic engagement, and genetically modified food.
