Dennis Kurtz, Fellow

Dennis currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Erica. He was born and raised in the Kansas City area, and most of his family still lives in the Midwest. Dennis Holds a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. He has been a fellow at the Center for Public Service since 2011, and currently manages a small psychology practice operating in Portland.
Dennis brings a progressive-minded approach to life and work. He values science and critical thinking, and favors the use of empirical evidence in decision making whenever possible. Dennis also strives to err on the side of empathy toward other people, while also challenging out-dated or repressive forms of thinking.
Dennis enjoys the outdoors, and loves to go hiking, camping, or backpacking. He also enjoys competitive sports, the arts, good food, and an occasional glass of whiskey. From time to time, Dennis still manages to do some creative writing.
