How we decide
Each year the Counselor Education Department has more applicants than there are available spaces in the department. Applications are accepted for each program (Clinical Mental Health; Marital, Couple and Family; Rehabilitation; and School) until February 1.
Faculty members in the Counselor Education Department review each application. Applications are rated across various indices, including past academic performance, relevant work/volunteer experience, personal statement, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and interview.
We hold an admissions interview during the middle of March. Admission decisions are made by early- to mid-April. Applicants are notified by mail if they have been invited for an interview and admittance. An interview must be completed for admission into the department.
