What We Do
The Mission of Conferences & Events: Conferences & Events is committed to providing outstanding hospitality and service to Portland State University event clients and guests. We help clients identify the best event space and lodging options on campus and collaborate with University partners to ensure seamless and efficient event planning.
Who We Are
Conferences & Events manages and administers services in the following areas:
Venues
- Smith Memorial Student Union
Serves as the central "living room" of the University for faculty, staff, students and visitors to the campus. - Conferences & Events provides quality customer service within our nationally recognized educational conference destination. Summer conferences and events can be hosted PSU through our unique Summer Housing & Conferencing services.
- University Place Hotel and Conference Center
Supports academic inquiry by providing quality guest and conference center services. - Peter W. Stott Recreation & Athletic Facility and Community Field
Provides easy and affordable access to rental spaces ideal for large special events and private gatherings.
Amenities
- University Dining and Catering Services
Meets the campus community's dining and catering needs through the provision of nutritious and diverse dining options, while practicing sustainability at all times. - Ben & Jerry's Campus Catering creates euphoric ice cream sundae and cone parties provided by PSU community partner New Avenues for Youth, which owns and operates the PSU Ben & Jerry's Partner Shop as a job training facility for at-risk and homeless youth.

Provides convenience items and services at multiple locations across campus. - University Market
Meets the campus community's immediate needs for supplies, snacks, academic and convenience items. - PSU Box Office
Serves the University District as the chief purveyor of intellectual, cultural and athletic events. - University Information Desk
Serves the entire campus community with detailed information on computer labs, classrooms, offices, amenities and resources. - Viking Gameroom
Billiards, bowling and videogames, located in the basement of Smith. Also available for parties and events!
