Summer Commencement Saturday, August 14

What:
Portland State University will award degrees to nearly 450 students at its summer 2004 commencement ceremony; 1,600 students will earn undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees in summer and fall 2004. Terrel Rhodes, vice provost for Curriculum and Undergraduate Studies will introduce the event and Portland State University President Dan Bernstine will deliver the commencement address. Approximately 2,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.

When:
Saturday, August 14, 11 a.m.-noon

Where:
Portland State University South Park Blocks between Smith Memorial Student Union and the Simon Benson House. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the large gym of the Peter Stott Center (930 SW Hall).

Cost:
The event is free and open to the public; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating. Parking will be available in Parking Structure 1 (located between SW Broadway, Hall, Sixth, and Harrison) and Parking Structure III (1631 SW 12th Avenue) for a fee of $3.
