Graduating with Honors for the Ceremony

Portland State University awards Latin honors to only undergraduate students. To qualify, students must have at least 72 credits at PSU, 60 of which must be taken for differentiated grades. Only PSU credit will be used in this calculation. The honors levels for the Spring Ceremony are calculated based on coursework completed through Winter 2008.

Honors are divided into three categories. If your final GPA is between 3.9 and 4.0, you graduate summa cum laude; between a 3.8 and 3.89 to graduate magna cum laude; and between a 3.67 and 3.79 to graduate cum laude.

Students who are eligible for honors will receive their honor cord at a ceremony on Thursday, June 12, 2008, in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom. Qualifying students will be mailed an invitation to the event in late May.
