Hugo du Coudray Blue Denim Scholarship
Psychology Announces 2011 Hugo du Coudray Blue Denim Scholarship Recipient
We are pleased to announce senior Psychology major Anthony Ward as the inaugural recipient of the Hugo du Coudray Blue Denim Scholarship! Established by a gift honoring Professor du Coudray (formerly Maynard), the award identifies and aids the progress of undergraduates committed to community-based research and empowerment.
I chose Portland State University because of Portland's progressive attitude towards sustainability, social conscientiousness, great art and music scene, and all-around vibrant communities. I am proud to be part of an institution which embraces and encourages these attitudes and truly lives up to their motto, "Let Knowledge Serve the City."
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Anthony transferred to Portland State in the fall of 2009 after earning his A.A. in Liberal Arts at Central New Mexico College. He plans to pursue graduate studies in Behavioral Neuroscience or Clinical Neuropsychology.
Scholarships like the Hugo du Coudray are only possible with the support of dedicated alumni and friends, for which we are deeply grateful. Thank you!
