Young Scholars Program
Portland State University is committed to serving the needs of the metropolitan area by providing a scholarship program for selected high school students to attend the University for part-time advanced study in a particular academic discipline, where they have exceeded district offerings.
LINK is an academic-year program; it does not run during the summer. Students are accepted into the LINK program in the fall quarter for sequential courses in mathematics, foreign languages, and the sciences. Continued participation in the program is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the first quarter. New students are not accepted into winter or spring terms.
LINK students new to PSU apply to the University as Quick Entry (part-time) students and then pre-register for their coursework through LINK. They are restricted, as are all Quick Entry students, to a maximum of 8 credits (typically 2 courses) per quarter.
