In August 2013, CES provided Whole Foods Market with a comprehensive analysis examining existing waste and recycling practices and provided in-depth recommendations for improved performance at two Pacific Northwest region store locations. Significant research, data gathering and analytics were provided to enable transparency and accounting as it relates to Whole Foods’ materials management program.  

Additionally, CES provided commodity revenue cost analysis utilizing data from the assessments and secondary commodity markets’ values, giving Whole Foods the tools to better understand how waste reduction could positively impact their bottom line. A greenhouse gas impact analysis of emissions associated with each store’s material management practices was also included in the project.
