President Wiewel proudly awarded Congressman David Wu the 2009 Urban Serving University Congressional Champion Award on his recent trip to Washington, D.C.  PSU was attending the annual Urban Serving University (USU) meeting.  The Congressman has shown true leadership for USU issues including sponsoring the Urban University Renaissance Act of the 21st Century, which he will be introducing soon in the 111th Congress.  This is a big step for the USU coalition and PSU was a major player in delivering this victory.  The announcement of the legislation was made at the reception honoring Congressman Wu and the next day conference participants hit the Hill asking for original co-sponsorship of the bill.
