Envisioning a Justice Based Movement to End Gender Violence
Tuesday, April 29, 2014 - 12:00pm to Tuesday, April 29, 2014 - 1:50pm

Using Incite! co-founder Andrea Smith's recent piece, "Beyond Eve Ensler: What Should Organizing Gender Violence Look Like?" we will unravel where the dominant "violence against women" discourse is currently with feminist, activist, organizational and national struggles, and how to complicate and challenge this narrative using an intersectional analysis and approach.

Join our conversationalists, Stephanie Wahab, Roberta Hunte, Cornel Pewewardy, Darrais Carter and Meg Panichelli as they discuss the principles in Smith's piece as well as their reflections from their own works.

Thursday, April 29, 12-1:50 p.m.
NASCC Gathering Room 110

This event is sponsored by the Women's Resource Center and participating Faculty's department and is one of several Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities at Portland State. For more information, contact Adrienne at agraf@pdx.edu.
