Linda Gerber, BA 1976, MS 1988 , and Ed.D. 1995 (all PSU degrees) retired from her position as Portland Community College Sylvania Campus President in April. During her eight years at PCC, Gerber oversaw the college's largest campus and the PCC district's sustainability efforts, including the creation of a Climate Action Plan that has led to a reduction in carbon emissions of 38% per SFTE. In retirement, she expects to continue her work to combat climate change and will continue to serve on the boards of the Northwest Earth Institute and Earth Advantage. Prior to her work at PCC, Gerber served as an instructor at PSU and a dean at Mt. Hood Community College. She looks forward to spending more time with her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoying her heritage farm on the Clackamas River, in her family since the 1860's.
