Miguel Figliozzi, Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty, and graduate students Katie Bell, Alex Bigazzi and Adam Moore presented three papers at the 2014 Transportation, Planning, Land Use and Air Quality Conference, organized by the Transportation Research Board and the Federal Highway Administration, in Charlotte, N.C., March 3-4. The papers are titled, “Identification and Characterization of PM2.5 and VOC Emission Hot Spots on an Arterial Corridor Integrating Probe Vehicle, Traffic and Land Use Data,” by Bell and Figliozzi; “Bicycle Facilities and the Uptake of Air Pollution by Active Travelers,” by Bigazzi, Figliozzi, Pankow, and Luo; and “Arterial Traffic Conditions and the Variability of Roadside Fine Particulate Matter at Mid-Block and Intersection Locations,” by Moore and Figliozzi.
