Seniors in Civil Engineering (CE) and Environmental Engineering (ENVE) again performed spectacularly on the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) examination, a national exam administered by the State of Oregon. Ninety-three percent (93%) of CE majors at PSU passed the April 2013 examination compared to a national average of 80%. For the last 10 years, PSU CE majors have consistently scored well above the national average pass rate with an average pass rate of over 90%. One hundred percent (100%) of ENVE majors passed the examination compared to a national pass rate of 88%. This is the fifth year since the establishment of the BS program in ENVE, and for each of these years ENVE majors have had 100% pass rates on the FE examination. The FE examination is the first examination in the process of professional engineering licensure.
